Calcium ammonium nitrate fertilizer is a white columnar crystal, belonging to the monoclinic crystal system, with α and β crystal types. The relative density is 1.82, the melting point is 39.7°C, it is decomposed at about 40°C, when heated to 151°C, it is completely dehydrated into anhydrous calcium nitrate water, when heated to about 500°C, calcium nitrate decomposing into calcium nitrite and releasing oxygen, and it is decomposed into calcium oxide and nitrogen oxide gas. Calcium ammonium nitrate fertilizer is soluble in water, methanol, ethanol, acetone, methyl acetate and liquid ammonia. Calcium ammonium nitrate fertilizer is an oxidizing agent, has hygroscopic properties, and is easily delixed in air. It is also an oxidizing agent, which burns and explodes in case of organic matter and sulfur, and emits a red flame.
